Company completes the largest document scanning and digitization project in Pakistan
An estimated 2 million children from 35 different districts in Punjab, appeared
for their grade 5 and 8th exam this year. Pakistani Punjab has an estimated population
of over 82 million people. If taken as an independent country; the region hosts
the same number of people as Germany and would be the 14th largest nation in terms
of population. An estimated 16 million answer sheets were generated from these examinations.
In order to handle the 30,000 different exam sheet packages moving in and through
the system, FutureNow Technologies used FutureNow Invent; a fully automated
solution developed for barcode based inventory management and workflow tracking
to keep tabs on the papers moving through the entire process.
FutureNow DScan Pro was used for the actual scanning, optical mark recognition,
data entry and result generation for data which was about 6 Terabytes. FutureNow
Technologies has been closely related with the document and knowledge management
industry for over a decade and has played an instrumental part in developing some
of the most cutting edge solutions being used around the world.
FutureNow currently has the capacity to scan and process 0.5 million pages
a day; handle data entry for over a million pages a day and store over 7 million
pages on its facility located with over 10,000 square feet.
A single percentage error in the Punjab Examination Commission project would mean
that that result for 200,000 children would be inaccurate. This was a very serious
issue since a very large percentage of children who failed in these examinations
would simply drop out.
FutureNow committed to and delivered upon 99.99 % data entry accuracy through its
extensive double entry processes, independent quality assurance procedures and random
quality audits. Nearly 200 resources worked around the clock in three shifts to
deliver this within 30 calendar days. Last year, the same project was completed
in about 45 calendar days by a competitor.
"FutureNow's selection in this project is the result of our commitment to innovation;
our focus on premiere service and the realization of our clients that we consider
their problems as our own," said Mian Arif Ali, Director Operations of FutureNow
Technologies (Pvt) Ltd.
"With an aggressive deadline of only thirty days to process 16 million exam sheets;
our people worked with incredible dedication. It is incredible to see what people
can achieve, once they put their minds into achieving a target".
